Meanings of Symbols

The “Remembrance Day For All” symbol means something wider than the white poppy:

For many, the meaning of the white poppy grew out of its history. For many (eg. many in the Peace Pledge Union) but not all, that means a categorical rejection of all war.

The “Remembrance Day For All” symbol is clearly and definitely not a categorical rejection of all war. But at the same time this symbol represents a struggle to include strict pacifists and all others in Remembrance Day discussions. It is a symbol of a struggle to give all under-represented groups their fair share of attention.

Cover it with tape for rain protection
Cut it out from printer paper
Pin it on clothing before wearing the clothing
Put the clothing on yourself

“Covering the paper with tape for rain protection” means that you’ll have to

Go to a store that sells packaging tape (eg. stationary section at drug store, etc)
Select 2 inch wide packaging tape that is labelled “clear.” (Price: 55 yards X 2″ wide for approx. $2.50. The remainder can be used for holiday gifts in December, etc.)
